Hi, I’m Sophie

I manage projects professionally. A parent, currently an expat in Paris, France.

Several years back I moved here with my family. What began as a short-term assignment gradually opened a new chapter living overseas.

How It Started

Moving to France wasn’t in the plan for the long haul. As with many expat relocations, it started as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far more significant.

The initial months were demanding — unfamiliar systems, routines, and expectations. Routine tasks seemed more complicated than they needed to be.

The Adjustment Period

There was culture shock, uncertainty, and a lot of learning on the fly. Yet gradually routines took shape. We found places that fit us, connected with other families, and began creating something that felt steady.

Why I Built IpahaGyveoNepi

Most information online was either corporate relocation guidance or surface tourism content. What was missing was a frank, everyday family viewpoint.

This site aims to bridge that gap — practical advice grounded in real life in France.

What This Site Is (And Isn't)

This site IS:

  • Hands-on insights from life in France
  • Emphasis on family routines and daily life
  • Updated when meaningful changes occur

This site ISN'T:

  • An authority on tourism
  • A platform for sponsored reviews
  • Just another generic travel blog

Looking Ahead

Our stay in France goes on, and so does the learning process. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll continue to document our discoveries.

If you have questions about family life in Paris or anywhere in France, feel free to reach out.

Cheers,

Sophie
